AMAS team members that enter or use GPS coordinates should have a basic understanding of the GPS units, systems, and issues that effect accuracy. This course is designed to provide the training to address these issues. Students will learn the basic GPS theory as applied to field use. Students will understand what type of coordinates are used by both State and Federal Urban Search and Rescue Teams. Also, with the evolution of technology students will be introduced to Survey123 and how to enter data during a disaster and its potential uses and issues. This course is a prerequisite for IMAT, SMORT, Swiftwater / Flood Water Teams, Search Teams, Rescue Teams
