Emergency Medical Responder
This course is required to apply for certification as an Emergency Medical Responder. This course provides students with insights into the theory and application of concepts related to the profession of emergency medical services. Specific topics include EMS preparatory, airway maintenance, patient assessment, management of trauma patients, management of medical patients, treating infants and children, and various EMS operations. This course is based on the National EMS Scope of Practice Model and DOT compliant curriculum. The EMR course is a great introduction to the EMS profession. The EMR course is intended to help serve rural communities and provide an EMS based certification to those students with an interest in EMS or as a bridge to other EMS certifications. Successful students will be eligible to take the NREMT EMR exam.

- High School diploma/GED/Transcript
- Current Valid Driver’s License
- Meet the Essential Functions for the EMR program
- CPR certification must be provided before class or completed before the course ends
