This course is based on NFPA 1031: Standard for Professional Qualifications for Fire Inspector and Plan Examiner. A beginning level course for Fire Fighters and other interested parties wishing to become more involved in the aspect of fire prevention and inspections. This course is primarily designed for those entering into fire service inspections and would be extremely useful to City Inspector and Company Level Officers. Some of the topics covered in this course include: Building Construction, Decorative Materials and Furnishings, Fire Drills, Inspection Procedure, Code Enforcement, Fire Alarm, and Communications.
Due to the NFPA 1030, Standard for Professional Qualifications for Fire Prevention Program Positions standard change, the Fire Inspector I, II, and III series will be transitioning to First Responder Inspector and Fire Inspector.
