Technical Rescue Personnel: Heavy Vehicle Rescue Awareness, Operations, and Technician

This course is based on NFPA 1006: Standard for Technical Resue Personnel Professional Qualifications, Chapter 9, 2021 Edition. This course is designed to offer a combination of classroom and practical evolutions that allow the student to learn proper techniques to size-up and plan for a heavy vehicle incident, establish fire protection, stabilize a heavy vehicle, lift and move a heave vehicle, isolate potential energy sources, determine heavy vehicle access and egress points, create access and egress openings for rescue, disentangle victims, remove a packaged victim to a designated safe area, and terminate a heavy vehicle incident.

Special Equipment - Students will not be allowed to participate in training without all the required safety equipment listed below:
NFPA compliant full turnout gear or extrication suit
Hard hat or firefighting helmet
Work gloves, steel-toed boots
OSHA approved safety glasses
Physical Requirements - This is a physically demanding course which requires student to be in good physical condition.
