This course is based on NFPA 1010: Standard for Certified Firefighters, NFPA 1407: Standard for Training Fire Service Rapid Intervention Crews, NFPA 1801: Standard for Thermal Imaging Cameras, and NFPA 1561: Standard on Incident Management System and Command Safety. The course is designed for firefighters that want to take training to the next level in fire operations utilizing the latest techniques in fire attack, rescue operations, survival skills, and RIC operations while familiarizing students with the rapid intervention crew concept that gives them the tools to develop a more enhanced rapid intervention crew program. All emergency responders and personnel who may act as Incident Commanders or company officers at emergency incidents should be familiar with rapid intervention concepts, so they can effectively use this risk management tool.

Special Equipment - - NFPA Compliant Structural Turnout Gear
- SCBA with PASS and space SCBA cylinder
- Optional: Knee pads and any other equipment typically carried ont he body during firefighting activities
Physical Requirements - This is a physically demanding course which requires the student to be in good physical condition.

- Certified Fire Fighter I or Certified Volunteer Fire Fighter
- Two years of service as a Certified Firefighter or Certified Volunteer Firefighter
- Formal Fire Service Training on Rapid Intervention Crews
- Recommended: Certified Rapid Intervention Crew or Rapid Intervention Crew Training
